The Cherry Hill NJ DMV offices are two Motor Vehicle Commission sites: the vehicle center at 1 Executive Campus on Route 70, for titles, registrations and plates, and the inspection station and road test site at 617 Hampton Road. Neither one handles driver licenses, permits or REAL ID, so for those, Cherry Hill drivers book an appointment at the Camden or Runnemede licensing centers. The vehicle center and road tests need appointments; inspections don’t.

Appointments and Walk-Ins
Book through the MVC’s appointment scheduler: choose the appointment type, such as New title or registration, Registration renewal or Auto road test, then Cherry Hill and a time. Our NJ MVC appointment guide explains each type. The vehicle center takes walk-ins for disability placards, plate returns and 5-year driver abstracts. The inspection lanes serve vehicles as they arrive; check wait times on NJinspections.com or at (609) 620-7992.
Hours and Holiday Closures
The vehicle center is open weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The inspection lanes on Hampton Road keep the same weekday hours but run from 7:00 a.m. to noon on Saturdays, opening an hour earlier and closing three hours earlier than the vehicle center. Road tests are given weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Both sites close on Sundays and state holidays; expect closures on Columbus Day (Monday, October 12, 2026), Election Day (Tuesday, November 3), Veterans Day (Wednesday, November 11) and Thanksgiving (Thursday, November 26).
Licenses and REAL ID for Cherry Hill Residents
Cherry Hill has no licensing center, so a first license or permit, a knowledge test, a renewal you can’t do online or a REAL ID means booking an appointment in a nearby town:
| Office | Address | License services |
|---|---|---|
| Camden MVC | 2600 Mount Ephraim Ave, Suite 400, Camden | Licenses, permits, IDs, REAL ID and knowledge tests |
| Runnemede MVC | 835 E. Clements Bridge Rd, Runnemede | Licenses, permits, IDs, REAL ID and knowledge tests, plus vehicle services |
| Medford MVC | 175 Route 70, Suite 25, Medford | REAL ID and renewals with a REAL ID upgrade only |
| Turnersville MVC | 5200 Route 42 North, Turnersville | REAL ID and renewals with a REAL ID upgrade only |
At Medford or Turnersville, book a REAL ID appointment if your license isn’t due for renewal within three months, or a renewal appointment if it is. A REAL ID costs $35, and the card is mailed to you.
What to Bring
To the Vehicle Center
For a new title or registration, bring the title, your ID, proof of New Jersey insurance and a completed Form BA-49, plus Form OS/SS-UTA if you’re transferring an out-of-state title. Private-sale buyers have 10 working days to transfer the title before a $25 penalty applies.
To the Inspection Station
Bring a valid driver’s license (the driver must be 17 or older), the vehicle’s registration document, not an online renewal receipt, and a New Jersey insurance card. Our guide to New Jersey car inspection explains what’s checked and what happens if you fail.
To a Road Test
For an auto road test, bring the 6 Points of ID documents you used for your permit, your valid permit, a New Jersey licensed driver who’s at least 21 and has held a license for three years, and a registered vehicle with a current inspection sticker and insurance card. Drivers under 21 need red decals on the plates.
