If you are looking for the “DMV” in Lexington to get your driver’s license or REAL ID, you must visit the KYTC Regional Office, not the old Regency Road location.
Important Transition: Kentucky has moved all driver licensing services from the Circuit Court Clerk to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC).
-
Go to this office for: Driver’s Licenses, Learner’s Permits, REAL ID, and ID Cards.

Conclusion
The most common mistake Lexington drivers make is going to the old Regency Road address. To save time, book an appointment at the Spindletop Regional Office online. If you need a road test, remember to book through the Kentucky State Police website first. For license plates and tags, you must visit the Fayette County Clerk, not this office.
