If you need to register a vehicle or transfer a title in Gunnison, you must visit the Gunnison County Motor Vehicle Office, which is part of the County Clerk & Recorder’s department.

Important Distinction:

  • Go to this office (221 N. Wisconsin St) for: Vehicle Registration, License Plates, Titles, and Handicap Placards.

  • Do NOT go to this office for: Driver’s Licenses, Permits, or State IDs.

    • Note: The State Driver License Office is located at 302 N. Main Street (see details below).

Appointments & Walk-Ins

  • Vehicle Services (County): Walk-ins are generally accepted during business hours at the Wisconsin St location. You do not strictly need an appointment for registration renewal, but arriving early is recommended.
